What is System96 Oceanside Compatible™ "T" Glass

What is Fusible Range (formerly called T-Glass)?

Fusible Range Glass is produced when shifting from one glass color to another during manufacturing.

Spectrum T-Glass is the very same item as Oceanside's Fusible Range Glass.

System 96 “T-Glass ”’Fusible Range Glass is always 100% tested-compatible,

  • devit-resistant
  • excellent-cutting
  • and otherwise top-performing fusible glass

It will, however, be outside of System 96’s tolerances for surface texture, seeds, color hue, mix, or density.

Most surface imperfections will disappear in the fusing process. If you wish to retain them for effect, fuse at lowers temperatures using shorter hold times. The more heat your project gets (the more “full” the fuse), the more an imperfect surface will heal. Avoid “T-Glass” where it is critical that you be able to replicate glass color from one project to the next.

The same structural tolerance (i.e., strength, cutability, straightness) as Spectrum's standard product, T-glass falls outside the standard tolerance due to variance in color, texture, mix characteristics, or light transmission. T Glass is always offered by us at a savings to your pocketbook. Note: System 96 T-Glass generally falls only slightly outside the standard color tolerances and is always tested 100% compatible.

Originally, the "T" stood for "transition" to designate glass colors that were produced during the transition from one color to another in the continuous-melt furnaces. For example, producing dark blue and changing to medium blue, a shade between the two might be made as the glass gradually changed color.

  • Do note that first quality glass that might be just lighter than one standard shade and darker than another.

There is no guarantee that any color of T-glass can be reproduced, therefore please do not purchase T-Glass with the intent of matching any sheet to another. Even T-glass with the same stock number may vary - one designated T for color and another for texture, for example.

When new glass colors were in the process of being created is also another instance that T-Glass is created.  So finding these in the offerings of T-Glass can be quite exciting.
